The first thing that caught my attention about this game was its illustrations, which have a style similar to the art of Edward Gorey. Players are assigned five cards representing the members of their chosen household and proceed to inflict as much pain and misery on their family members as possible before bumping them off to collect the total points their gloomy biographies are worth. The game plays a bit like reading The Gashlycrumb Tinies with cards like "Chased by children" or "Ruined by rum." It's easy to learn and fun to play, especially if you're trying to explain the various situations in which your characters find themselves.
