The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt

The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt

The Sisters Brothers is a cowboy novel with a noir edge, a dark comedy that is part True Grit and part Maltese Falcon. Brothers Eli and Charles Sisters are guns for hire. Currently, they are employed by a shadowy figure known only as “the Commodore,” who has sent them Oregon city with orders to kill a prospector named Herman Kermit Warm. Along the way, the brothers encounter murderers, prostitutes, witches, and the occasional honest man, all of which leaves the brothers unprepared for a discovery which could make them richer than they'd ever dreamed, but which also makes them enemies of the Commodore.
