The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

Title:  The Name of the Wind

Author: Patrick Rothfuss

The phrase "Harry Potter for adults” gets thrown around a lot these days; however readers will be pleased to discover the accuracy of this description while reading The Name of the Wind. The plot unfolds as the main character, the enigmatic Kvothe, recites his life story to a traveling scribe. The first volume of the series covers Kvothe's early years, including the events that lead to him becoming an orphaned street urchin and his eventual journey to the university where he is given the opportunity to study magic. Written in a style that is both easy to read and beautifully descriptive, you'll find yourself finishing this book much sooner than you would expect.
