Author Event: Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 11am to 2pm
Please join us on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 11am to 2pm when author Jan Wood will be signing copies of Keeper Of The Clearing.
About the book:
In a once-harmonious woodland now overrun by conflict and misunderstanding, three unlikely characters—Owl, Tiger, and Turtle—are chosen to seek a way forward. They share little in common, but as they journey beyond the bramble in search of answers to heal the forest, they uncover truths that begin to heal themselves. Along the way, they form a bond of trust, friendship, and quiet transformation.
With lyrical prose and black-and-white folk-art-inspired illustrations, author Jan Wood invites readers on a journey that is both outward and inward. This is a story about friendship, forgiveness, and remembering who we really are.
Perfect for thoughtful young readers, classrooms, and families looking to spark meaningful conversations, Keeper of the Clearing is a heartfelt reminder that every path worth walking begins right where you are.
About the author:
Jan Wood is a mother of five and grandmother to thirteen. She’s a longtime mindfulness practitioner who believes in the power of imaginative stories to speak truthfully to the heart.
Keeper of the Clearing began with a simple question she saw on a poster in her doctor’s office: Are you an owl, a turtle, or a tiger?
That sparked something within her and bloomed into a fable filled with wonder, warmth, and the timeless wish that every child might discover their own way with clarity, compassion, and courage.
Jan lives in Eastern Oregon with her husband Larry, her beloved dog Luna, and two curious cats, Pookie and Boo—who often supervise her writing from the dining room table.
This is her first book.
